WTF is going on here??

I've been working on this level, and I decided to go for a neat sound effect sequence. I tried something in particular, but it went horribly wrong... If you have certain sound effects repeating extremely rapidly, it seems to break/malfunction all triggers and stops them.

And then this happened...

You can't be serious. Is this really happening? How did too many sound effects playing cause this?

(Whatever this was, it caused massive lag, too.)

I left the game how it was in the previous screenshot and decided to replicate the exact issue, out of curiosity. Instead, I made am history.
