Discovery of Delta

The mysterious energy, Delta, has actually been discovered twice. First by the Legendary Hero in the year 0, then again 5 years after his death by his disciples.The nature of the two Deltas differs greatly. The power used by the Legendary Hero, known to scholars as Primal Delta had the power to create and dissipate energy and matter. Modern Delta however is only able to manipulate energy. It should be noted that in recent years, a resident of Valtemeri is able to use a special strain of delta similar to Primal Delta. This fact alone causes researchers to speculate that there is indeed no difference between both types of Delta.

Much of the potential power of Delta remains unknown to us as of now. Some say it is a multi-dimensional flux while others say it is a physical particle. However, within the past century, major discoveries in applications of Delta have shaken the industrial capacity of the land and spurred on an energy revolution.

Balancing Delta

As stated in the previous chapter, the flux-fields of Delta must be balanced. The concept of balance was not conceived until two centuries ago by scientists in the Syzygy region. Back then, extremely ambitious Delta-powered contraptions were constructed in what is now Syzygy forest. These machines however, were constructed using only positive flux-fields. As a result, the space around the area became warped. As a last-ditch effort in order to prevent the spread of dimensional corruption, negative flux-fields were introduced. Several of the facilities in Syzygy remain abandoned today and the area was reclaimed by the forest.

Delta Flow

The flux-fields of Delta are able to flow in two directions, positive and negative.

Positive flux-fields allow for energy to enter our world. And, theoretically, a negative flux-field should absorb energy in our world and transmute it into the heavenly world. This is completely theoretical however due to the concept being impossible to test. Regardless, manifesting a negative flux-field does have a purpose. They appear to stabilize the general flux within an area. Without balancing flux-fields, an area can spontaneously explode.

An Excursion of Modern Events

This book tells about the more recent events in the game, and little about the main character.

However, Valtameri is safe due to the heroics of it's local army. Recently the land has been ravished by unknown shadow-like monsters. (Chosen player name), a local hero, is widely known for leading Valtameri's defensive attack against the shadow creatures.

The Prince has employed us to construct a specialized Delta machine. The specifications for the project are completely insane. At least 5 laws of physics have to be broken in order to complete this task. However, it is a task I cannot refuse. The money pays too well and its best not to go against the to-be-king's wishes.

May the gods spare us for our blasphemy.

One of the lab attendants suggested I tweak one of the constants. In theory, this can work.

I don't know what frightens me more; the potential of the machine or that all of knowledge of physics has just been undone.
